Progressive Pilgrimage leads Holy Land tours that enrich the spirit and inspire Christians to become more faithful disciples.
A pilgrimage is, by definition, a spiritual trip. The pilgrim takes his or her faith (however large or small it may be) on the road to encounter the holy in the places where people have been encountering the holy for generations. All of our tours offer opportunities to pray, worship, meditate, and reflect. Most trips begin with a daily devotion. Often there are opportunities to celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper or to remember the baptismal covenant. When possible, we also love to include opportunities to worship alongside people of other faiths or traditions. Since each tour is built to your group’s needs, your group leader will determine how much time is offered for spiritual reflection.
Founded by a Presbyterian Church (USA) minister, our spirituality is rooted in Reformed and mainline Protestant traditions. Our commitment to openness means that evangelical Christians, Roman Catholics, and people of others faiths are welcomed and their perspectives honored. Our founder, Heather, is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and accompanies each pilgrimage to offer spiritual leadership, giving your pastor a few precious moments to relax and be “fed.”
