Over the course of nine days, pilgrims will discover the highlights of London and the south of England culminating in a pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral, the mother church of the Worldwide Anglican Communion. Pilgrims will explore two pilgrimage routes to Canterbury including the traditional route from London and the “Old Way,” a recently rediscovered pilgrimage route dating to the 14th century. This is largely a bus pilgrimage with a few optional half-day walks, including a walk into Canterbury. Other highlights include a visit to London’s famed cathedrals, Stonehenge, monastic ruins, and the scenery of the English countryside. The group will meet with locals including the rector of St. Martin in the Field, a leader of the British Pilgrimage Trust, and the clerics of Canterbury Cathedral.

Saturday, December 2, 2023 | Arrival + Westminster Abbey
The pilgrimage officially begins at the Hampton by Hilton, Waterloo, at 1:00 pm. After our tour, we have a little free time before our opening dinner. Overnight at the Hampton by Hilton, Waterloo.
Sunday, December 3, 2023 | London
We will join a local congregation for morning worship with the Eucharist, before a walking tour of London, including St. Paul’s, the City of London, and sites related to the pilgrimage to Canterbury. After our tour, you will enjoy a free evening in London, including dinner on your own. Overnight London.
Monday, December 4, 2023 | Stonehenge and Winchester
We depart London in the morning, stopping at Stonehenge to visit the ancient site, before continuing on to Winchester Cathedral. We arrive in Southampton where we meet a representative from the British Pilgrimage Trust for an introduction to The Old Way. Dinner (included) and overnight at a local hotel.
Tuesday, December 5, 2023 | The Old Way
Today we start with worship and Eucharist at Netley Abbey. Those walking will depart from the Abbey and those choosing not to walk will visit one or two of the following sites: Fishbourne Roman Palace and/or Boxgrove Priory. Dinner and overnight in Battle.
Wednesday, December 6, 2023 | The Old Way and Canterbury
Our day starts with a tour of Battle Abbey, the site of the Battle of Hastings. We’ll spend the morning exploring the sites, enjoy lunch together, then travel to Fordwich, where walkers will depart for Canterbury via The Old Way. Non-walkers will travel by coach to the Cathedral Lodge in Canterbury. Dinner and overnight at the Cathedral Lodge.
Thursday, December 7, 2023 | Canterbury
Today we explore Canterbury, including the Cathedral, St. Augustine’s Abbey, and other sites of significance. The itinerary concludes with lunch, giving you a free afternoon and evening in Canterbury. Dinner is on your own. Overnight in Canterbury.
Friday, December 8, 2023 | Canterbury and Dover
We depart Canterbury in the morning, traveling to Dover to visit the Dover Castle and the White Cliffs. After worship with Eucharist, we travel by coach to our hotel near Heathrow Airport. A celebratory closing dinner at the hotel concludes our itinerary. Overnight at the Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow.
Saturday, December 9, 2023 | Return to US
Pilgrims will make their way to Heathrow Airport at your leisure for your return flight to the US. The hotel will help you make transfer arrangements to the airport, either via taxi or airport coach.
Price, Deadlines, and Insurance
This pilgrimage begins at $3,500 per person, double occupancy. Single supplements are available for $675.
This pilgrimage does not include round-trip airfare. You are responsible for booking your fights to arrive in time to join the group at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
There is an early bird discount of $150 for all registrations received by March 30, 2023.
The registration deadline is August 1, 2023 and final payments are due October 1, 2023.

A $500/person deposit is due at time of registration, payable online via credit card. Participants will be invoiced for additional payments which may be paid by check, ACH, or credit card. Credit card payments of the remaining balances will incur a 3% fee.
