ABOUT
This thirteen day pilgrimage retreat begins with an introduction to Celtic history and spirituality in Ireland before continuing on to Iona for a seven-night retreat with renowned Celtic theologian and mystic, John Philip Newell. In Ireland, pilgrims will begin with a taste of Celtic Christian art through the Book of Kells and other illuminated manuscripts, followed by a walking pilgrimage in the Glendalough Monastic City, and an introduction to the pre-Christian and Christian Celtic spirituality at Navan Fort with Rev. Grace Clunie. Continuing on to Iona in Scotland, the group will join John Philip Newell for a seven-day retreat of reflection, spiritual practice, and community life. Each day offers time for silent reflection, teaching by Newell, community worship, and free time. The retreat also includes the option for a 9-mile walking pilgrimage around the island.
