A Journey of Peace and Reconciliation | From $975

This Civil Rights Pilgrimage is a journey from sin, to repentance, and finally to reconciliation. We explore slavery, white supremacy, racism, and Jim Crow on this pilgrimage from Greensboro to Montgomery and Selma. Most importantly, we will think together about how to bring the values of equality and justice home with us. The full itinerary is available below. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 | Depart Greensboro
Your private motocoach departs from St. Andrew’s at 8:00am , headed to Montgomery, Alabama. Please arrive at the church no later than 7:30am. Lunch en route (on your own.) Welcome dinner (included). Optional Compline service and Overnight at Staybridge Suites, Downtown Montgomery.
Wednesday, January 18, 2023 | Montgomery
Breakfast begins at 6:30am and morning prayer at 9:00am in the hotel conference room. This morning, we tour significant sites in Montgomery’s Civil Rights history including Rosa Parks museum and Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and learn about the lesser-known figures in the Montgomery movement led by Wanda Battle. In the afternoon, meet together with your group to debrief your experiences. Dinner (on your own) and overnight in Montgomery. Optional Compline service at 8:30pm in the conference room.
Thursday, January 19, 2023 | Montgomery and Selma
Breakfast begins at 6:30am. We’ll gather in the hotel lobby by 8:30am for a brief prayer. We begin our day with a sobering and humbling look at the sins of slavery, white supremacy, and racism with a visit to the Equal Justice Initiative’s museum and lynching memorial. Following lunch, the theme shifts repentance and liberation as we travel to Selma to visit Brown Chapel AME Church and complete a prayer walk from the church to the Edmund Pettus Bridge. You’ll be led by Ronald Smith and Gwen Brown of New Way Revolution, an organization engaged in the work of non-violence, reconciliation, and racial justice. Return to Montgomery for dinner (on your own) and overnight accommodations.
Friday, January 20, 2023| Montgomery to Greensboro
We conclude with a departing worship service, with Eucharist, before boarding our bus for Greensboro. Estimated arrival 9pm, but final time TBD.

Price, Deadlines, and Insurance
This pilgrimage begins at $975 per person, double occupancy. A deposit of $500 is required at the time of registration. The single supplement is $270
Group travel insurance is available through Progressive Pilgrimage and is underwritten by Allianz. The group travel policy offers a substantial discount over personal policies, but we encourage you to compare insurance options. . Coverage details are available here. If you are interested, please select the insurance option on your registration form and we will contact you with additional details before adding the insurance to your invoice.

A $500/person deposit is due at time of registration, payable online via credit card. Participants will be invoiced for additional payments which may be paid by check, ACH, or credit card. Credit card payments of the remaining balances will incur a 3% fee.
